GAU Foundation School Holds a Reading Competition

On the 21st of May the GAU Foundation English School (FES) organized a reading competition. The FES students were judged by the jury for their pronunciation, intonation, rhythm and fluency while reading an English poem. The competition took place in the Senate Hall of the Millennium Building.

The competition was organized by the GAU FES Reading Club teachers Nevin Esat, Mary Whitsell and Evgin Gulten. The competition started with a short introduction by Mary Whitsell who talked about the activities organized by the reading club and thanked all participating students. The students each read a passage from the well-known Rudyard Kipling poem, “If”. Following this the Head of FES, Ferdiye Ersoy, Nevin Esat, Mary Whitsell and Evgin Gulten presented the participants their prizes. After the reading competition the Reading Club presented Reading Achievement Certificates to students who attended the Reading Club. This year the Reading Club students had the opportunity to enjoy reading English while talking about the books, literature and authors for two hours every Tuesday with their teachers in the Red Room.
